Characterization of the first generation pulsed THz emitters

Summary
Characterization of a first generation of active metallic THz emitters based on transition metal/heavy metal bilayers (typically Co/Pt bilayers) using terahertz time domain spectroscopy (TDS) with detected fields equivalent or larger to standard electro-optical materials. The output performances will be characterized in both reflection and transmission modes over the spectral bandwidth of the TDS system. The optimal parameters in terms of emitter growth, excitation powers and pulse width will be investigated.
