Summary
UTARTU will organise a 2days interdisciplinary and crosssectorial hackathon on Functional Materials for Robotics The call for the hackathon ideas will be launched M17 of the project in order to properly prepare the content for the hackathon taking place on M21 The hackathon will be organized within same week when the joint summer school T331 takes place at UTARTU The aim of the hackathon is to enhance technological innovation capacity facilitate cocreation rapid idea creation and experimentation to identify problems looking for solutions and develop solutions accordingly It includes training on lean product development that addresses the challenges of product development including reducing long development cycles cost of development and production it also targets the need for innovative solutions The hackathon is targeted for 50 stakeholders from academia including the consortium and industry involving the students ESRs postdoctoral researchers and startups While inviting participants both from academia and industry variety in terms of disciplines will be encouraged material science and related research fields SSH that enables to analyse the problems and offered solutions from a wider societal perspective Special attention will be paid to the involvement of ESRs the 6 ESRs who have completed the T31 and T32 will attend the hackathon to have the change to put their knowledge into practice From UTARTU as minimum 12 ESRs and from IIT 6 and CNRS 6 will attend Travel costs will be reimbursed from the T331 Joint summer school at UTARTU budget There will be a jury of experts and investors nominating the 3 best ideas After the hackathon the 3 winner teams will be encouraged to develop their ideas further and advice will be given for additional funding sources The hackathon will be organised in collaboration with partner found in procurement who is experienced in organizing startup events to show how to turn an idea into a working service or prototype within 48 hours
