Summary
The interventions have to be conscientiously prepares to warrant best possible success of the studies. The preparatory phase will comprise pretests with quantitative interviews, the finalisation of standard operating procedures, the preparation and submission of informed/parental consent forms, information sheets and other documents needed for the ethic commissions and data protection officers. In tight collaboration with WP1 and WP4, educational material will be designed and then be translated into the languages of the respective countries. Finally, ambulatory care practices and schools will be sampled and randomly allocated to the intervention and the control groups. Practice staff and teachers in the intervention group will be educated with respect to the importance of a sufficient iodine status.
