Strategy to take into account unknown diseases in Epidemic Intelligence systems.

The main objective is to improve the integration of the threat of unknown diseases into Epidemic Intelligence systems by proposing a strategy and guidelines to consider threat of unknown diseases in existing procedures of epidemic intelligence. This strategy will be based on the analysis of existing strategies and processes used by stakeholders to detect and monitor the emergence of unknown diseases, and gaps and challenges to address; and by reviewing the challenges related to the detection and identification of unknown disease in relation to diagnostics and assess the added value of the data science approach.
