Two simulation models developed using Operations Research/Management Science techniques to evaluate resource allocation among permutable services

This deliverable is linked to Task 3.1 and to subtask 3.5.2. It will consist of two simulation models based on OR/MS techniques to evaluate resource allocation. The OR/MS models will utilise information from observations, model simulations, data statistics and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of adaptation strategies for building resilience against different climate change scenarios. The purpose of the models will be to evaluate the multi-functionality of different asset, systems, and services under various scenarios, and investigate the ability to give them different tasks depending on the need that arises given system priorities (e.g., catering to surge capacity) the ability to rewire itself and adapt to circumstances. The permutable services could be a person of a specific role, a physical asset of specific features or even a multi-sector system such as a commercial supply chain.
